Raiders qualify for regionals PORTLAND -- The Southern Oregon University volleyball team assured itself a spot in the NAIA Western Regionals for the first time since 1992 with a hard-fought win on Friday. The Raiders registered blowout wins in the first two games but needed a fifth and decisive game to close out Northwest Nazarene 15-3, 15-4, 9-15, 14-16 and 15-8 in the semifinals of the Cascade Conference Tournament at Concordia University. Erin Lytle set up the Raiders attack with 52 assists to go along with 17 digs. Shelley Gorin and Monica Fisher led SOU with 17 and 13 kills, respectively. Sabrina Garboden had a team-high 19 digs for the Raiders, who improved their season record to 23-8. Tabitha Shipman had 21 kills for Northwest Nazarene.
