California police seek pair in homicide By Mark Freeman SOMES BAR, Calif. � Police are still looking for two Northern California people wanted for questioning in the apparent homicide of a Somes Bar man over the weekend, and authorities fear the duo are on the lam. Detectives combing the Somes Bar and Eureka, Calif., areas Monday and Tuesday have yet to sniff out anything but the cold trail of Teresa Westfall and William Black, authorities said. The pair are wanted in connection with the death of Allie Allen Davis, 65, who was last seen alive Friday. Davis was found dead by family members Sunday. Davis had suffered severe head trauma, Siskiyou County Undersheriff Mike Lyon said. There were no signs of gunshots, but it was unclear to detectives Tuesday whether the head injuries were fatal, Lyon said. Lyon said Westfall, 32, and Black, 39, recently had lived with Davis in Davis� backwoods house near Somes Bar, a small Klamath River community in far western Siskiyou County near the Del Norte County line. Lyon declined to name the pair as suspects Tuesday, and no warrants in connection with the homicide have been issued for them. "We want to talk to them at this point to see if they have any knowledge of what went on in that residence," Lyon said Tuesday. "The detectives are looking for any leads they can, but they haven�t got any good ones." However, detectives know Westfall recently suffered significant mouth injuries, and that she was treated for them Saturday in an Arcata, Calif., clinic. "We�re looking into all of that, and seeing if there�s any connection with that and what we�re handling as a homicide of Mr. Davis," Lyon said. But the couple�s cold trail, following extensive media coverage in Southern Oregon and Northern California of the case, has Lyon believing the pair are in hiding, he said. "I think enough of their friends have heard it and, if they know where (Westfall and Black) are, they�ve probably passed it on," Lyon said. Meanwhile, an autopsy is scheduled for this morning in Redding to determine a preliminary cause of death for Davis. A final determination will not be made until after toxicology reports are completed, Lyon said. Westfall is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion, and is missing several teeth. She also uses the name Teresa Moore. Black is 5 feet 9 inches tall and 160 pounds, with brown hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion. Black has two outstanding felony warrants. The pair have no vehicle and apparently had hitchhiked to Arcata, police said.
