The venue features a three-eighths-mile clay oval, and next to the race track is a one-eighth-mile dirt oval track that was built for Go Karts and Micro Sprints. The racing season at Southern Oregon Speedway runs all summer, wrapping up Saturday, Sept. 24, with Championship night. Gates open at 4 p.m. daily, with racing at 7 p.m. most Saturdays. Races of note this year include Wild West IMCA Speedweek, Saturday, June 11; Fireworks Spectacular, July 4; Sprint Car Speedweek, Saturday, July 9; SODCA Dwarf Car Nationals, Thursday-Saturday Aug. 4-6; and the Lon Skinner Memorial, Friday-Sunday, Sept. 2-4, with a top prize of $5,000. Racing classes include Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds/IMCA Sport Modifieds, SODCA Dwarf Cars, Outlaw Pro Stocks, Super 4's, Mini Stocks, Hornets and Open Stock.
