You’ve stumbled onto a dark secret, Linda. Many theaters have no Row I. You now how buildings don’t have a 13th floor? At least that’s what they’d like you to believe. Many people believe something lurks on that un-numbered door where the elevator never stops, sort of like the feds’ highly secret Area 51. They say if you somehow wander in, you never get out. A paranormally-inclined member of the Since You Asked Research Division claims that Row I is where ghost audiences sit when theater ghosts put on their plays the one day of the week theaters are closed. Advertisement We don’t know about that, but we can report that there is no Row I at the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater in Medford, and none in the Angus Bowmer or Elizabethan theaters at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland (the OSF’s New Theater doesn’t have that many rows) and many others. There’s a simple reason, actually. A ticket for Row I Seat 5 could look like something "I5." Depending on the typeface and the ticket format, it could be quite confusing.
