Over 15 years ago she was in a relationship that soon ended. While together, he co-signed on her home loan. This man owns a business and has not paid taxes in years. She has no contact with him, no interest or investment in this business. He has not paid taxes on his business for several years. She has made her mortgage payments, tax payments all this time. What is Jackson County doing? They are going to take her home to pay his tax debts. Apparently this is easier than going after the guilty person and making him pay his own taxes. Shame on Jackson County. This is a single woman who works as a caregiver and rescues homeless cats. I am shocked and disgusted. You should be, and are, the best source for local and regional news but you also find room for major scientific discoveries. I was pleased to read the article on the Large Hadron Collider — a subject in which I am very interested. To paraphrase little bear in the fairy tale, I find your newspaper just right. Gene Thomas Medford History still important Hopefully there is much charity in the constellation of Mail Tribune readers that will excuse a Truman-era baby who would like to recount the struggle for American history violated in the adoption by the Medford School Board of the book "American Pageant." Yes, I realize that this issue has probably been forgotten now by the general public concerned with Isis, marijuana, 2016 politics, Hillary's emails and fraudulent foundation, and the definition of marriage. But please humor me for a moment while, in total disbelief, I once again ask that we respect our American history to the point we realize the long-term damage "American Pageant" will do nationwide to our youthful high school coming generation. Spending seven to eight hours with this behemoth book of politics, not history, I believe that our Founding Fathers and their once-in-a lifetime philosophy were desecrated, misunderstood and cynically disregarded in"American Pageant," but it's too late now. And while the earth orbits for the trillionth time, and we text, eat dinner, watch basketball and send our children off to partake of the world, time marches backwards as Jefferson, Adams, Grant, Cleveland,Jackson, Madison, Franklin, Washington, Coolidge, Lincoln and America are, alas, no more. Joel Marks Medford Look closer Your opinion of May 13 suggesting that we should allow the smoking of e-cigarettes indoors didn't look closely enough at the problem. We're not concerned just with second-hand smoke. E-cigarettes can contain a large variety of chemical ingredients which, when smoked, release toxic chemicals indoors. This information comes from research that is readily available. The average person wants to breathe clean air. The sensitive individual has a need to breathe clean air as they can experience breathing problems or allergic reaction to these chemicals. For those of you who like to breathe clean air, please ask your state representative to ban the smoking of anything indoors.
