Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend October 20, 2005 Child sex-photo case goes to trial today A Central Point man charged with taking sexually explicit photos of an unconscious girl during a party is to stand trial today in Jackson County Circuit Court. Dominic Steven Bauer, 25, of the 200 block of West Gregory Road was arrested in October 2004 on four counts of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct and two counts of encouraging child sex abuse. If found guilty, Bauer would be subject to a mandatory prison sentence of five years and 10 months. The crime came to light in September 2004 when the 16-year-old victim saw photos of her genitals and breasts that had been taken at a June party, investigators said. The victim told detectives that she blacked out after drinking beer with Bauer and three other teens, whom she considered friends. The girl showed the photos to a high school counselor. School officials called police. Bauer’s brother, 17-year-old Adam M. Bauer, also of Central Point, pleaded guilty in May to a reduced charge along with L.C. Graham and Nicholas Daggitt, both 17, of Medford. The three did not take photos of the girl but were "active participants" in the crime, prosecutors said. The teens were sentenced in August to probation and ordered to register as sex offenders.
