Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Feb. 9, 2015 at 4:05 PM Posted Feb. 9, 2015 at 4:05 PM » Social News NEWS TO KNOW Imprisoned former Chicago-area police sergeant Drew Peterson was charged today with hiring a hitman to kill the prosecutor who sent him to prison for 38 years. Dressed in his prison uniform, Peterson asked for a public defender after hearing the charges against him. Peterson has been in jail since 2012, when he was found guilty of the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. The new charges stem from allegations that Peterson solicited someone to kill Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow between September 2013 and December 2014. Court documents did not name the hitman. QUOTE OF NOTE “Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé,” Kanye West told E! after Sunday’s Grammy Awards. No stranger to Grammy controversy, West put in his two cents about the “Loser” singer’s Best Album win.
