Eagle wrestlers top South Medford, 60-5 PREP ROUNDUP EAGLE POINT -- New Eagle Point coach Brad McBee probably didn't expect a cakewalk in his first Southern Oregon Conference wrestling dual. But the Eagles scored a resounding 60-5 victory over visiting South Medford. "I thought we were the aggressors and that's pretty much our goal throughout," McBee says. "That's born in our room. We do a lot of situation-type wrestling." Adam Bancroft (125 pounds), Scott Stockton (130) and B.J. McFall (140) registered pins as Eagle Point pushed its dual record to 4-0. The Eagles won three duals in a tournament at Phoenix last Friday. "The score wasn't indicative of how tough of a match it was," said McBee. "What it boiled down to was that their good wrestlers matched up with some of our good wrestlers and we won all of them and where we were close, we won those, too. I know coming in they thought they'd win four or five weights." South trailed 54 to minus 1, because of an unsportsmanlike penalty, until 215-pounder Ian Taylor recorded a pin.
