Unfortunately, the answer to your question is that there are no rolling online statistics that reflect speeding citations, either in Oregon or nationwide. That’s based on our own crackerjack sleuthing skills at Since You Asked Central, as well as the opinion of David House, spokesman for Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicle Services. The best House could do was to provide the most recent statistics on convictions for speeding and careless and reckless driving in the state. By that measure, 199,259 convictions were recorded for acts ranging from violation of the basic rule to violation of urban maximum speeds. By the way, that number included 1,014 convictions for speed racing. Send questions to "Since You Asked," Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O. Box 1108, Medford, OR 97501; by fax to 541-776-4376; or by e-mail to [email protected] . We’re sorry, but the volume of questions received prevents us from answering all of them.
