But my son’s friend goes to Eagle Point and he showed up at our house, claiming it was a no-school day for him, too. I read in the paper that the different districts in the valley were unable to coordinate cut days. Did that change? — Josie B., Medford So far, Josie, no changes have been made regarding cut school days. Originally, all school districts had hoped to close on the same days. But superintendents soon found it just wasn’t feasible, given early dismissals, bus schedules and in-service days. Since the majority of districts attempted to cut school days on either Mondays or Fridays, some cut days to coincide with other districts. Here’s a list of remaining school days that were eliminated to plug budget holes in each district: Ashland — April 25, 28; and June 4, 5, 6. Central Point — April 28; and May 5, 12, 19. Eagle Point — April 14, 21, 28; May 5, 12, 19; and June 9, 10, 11. Medford — April 18 and 21; and May 2 and 5. Phoenix-Talent — April 11, 18, 25; May 2, 9, 30; and June 2. Rogue River — April 14, 21, 28. Send questions to "Since You Asked," Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O. Box 1108, Medford, OR 97501; by fax to 541-776-4376; or by e-mail to [email protected] .
