Carrie (Standage) Rupp Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Dec. 23, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Dec. 23, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News Carrie Rupp passed away December 18, 2015, at her home at Arbor Place in Medford, Ore. She had the love and support of family and caregivers to the end. Carrie was born December 9, 1922 to Robert and Eulah (Blazing) Standage, in a farmhouse in Manhattan, Kans., the sixth of 11 children. She spent her school-age years in Loveland, Colo. and had many wonderful memories of her large and loving family. She married Clarence (Larry) Rupp August 18, 1940. She and Larry moved to Newport Beach, Calif. in 1942 and spent the next 41 years involved in their community. Carrie was the ultimate Mom and homemaker. She volunteered for all the activities involving her childrens' schools. She was a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout leader. While in California, Carrie loved bowling, oil painting, camping, fishing at Salton Sea, and enjoying the companionship of a large circle of family and friends. Carrie and Larry moved to Medford in 1983 and loved being close to their children and grandchildren. Carrie learned the art of scrapbooking and left the family with many albums of memories. Carrie became active in the United Methodist Women at the First United Methodist Church in Medford and made many close friends there. She loved traveling. One special outing every spring with her sister, Dorothy, and her family, was the highlight of her year. They would go to Palm Springs for a reunion. Carrie is survived by her daughter, Colleen Beatty (Dennis); her son, Lawrence “Larry” Rupp (Marilee); her grandsons, Dennis Beatty Jr. and David Beatty; her granddaughters, Shelley Houdesheldt (Bruce), and Tessie Humphreys (Jeff); her great-grandchildren, Cole Houdesheldt, Quinn Humphreys, and Aiden Humphreys; her brother, Donald Standage; her sisters, Dorothy Bonds and May Comer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, July 26, 2009. A special thanks from the family of Carrie to the staff members at Hearthstone, Arbor Place, and Signature Hospice and Home Care, for the wonderful care, and caring attitude all of you gave to our loved one, Carrie. A celebration of life is being planned for February, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Medford.
