(Irving Berlin) On the evening of March 19, 2016 Billie B. Nork passed away of natural causes, with her daughters at her side, at Brookdale Assisted Living, Eagle Point, Ore. She was born to Mark and Bertha Jones, May 12, 1925 in Silverton, Ore. She was one of five children. Billie took her first job as a bookkeeper at Montgomery Ward in Medford and later continued her professional career at Rogue Valley Memorial Hospital. She remained working at the hospital where she later served as president of the Auxiliary Club, and then a merchandise buyer for the hospital gift shop. Billie began working for the Southern Oregon Timber Association as a radio dispatcher for the loggers. Known as "Roxy," she met one logger, Ben Nork (also known as "66") who would quickly steal her heart. They married and lived happily together for over 25 years in Shady Cove, Ore. Family and friends were Billie's passion and delight. Some of her greatest memories were of times spent with her grandchildren. Billie loved flowers, and even owned a flower shop at one point in her life. She would endlessly play the piano, an amazing talent she acquired merely by listening. She was an astounding cook who will have many of her recipes passed down through the family, to become heirlooms. Billie leaves behind many who will cherish her memory. She is survived by her brother, Dan; two daughters, Susan Lee Hunt and Diane Louise Giansanti; her son-in-law, Bob Pomerenke; her four grandchildren, Angie, Trina, Jennifer, and Josh; and her two great-grandchildren, CJ and Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ben Nork; her three sisters, Dorothy, Becky, and Lois; and a daughter, Linda Ann Pomerenke. In lieu of services and flowers, please honor Billie with a memorial contribution to the American Cancer Society.
