Medford police arrested Franklin Friday on charges of being a felon in possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed gun and menacing. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained Friday night on $50,000 bail. Drugs — Paula Michelle Ward, 47, of the 1500 block of Terrace Drive, Medford. Medford police arrested Ward Friday on charges of possessing amphetamines, being a felon in possession of amphetamines and violating her probation. She was lodged in jail, where she remained Friday night without bail. Eluding — Brendon Albert Kinzel, 20, of the 14300 block of East Evans Creek Road, Rogue River. A sheriff’s deputy arrested Kinzel Friday on charges of reckless driving and attempting to elude police in a vehicle. He was lodged in jail, where he remained Friday night on $8,000 bail. Drugs — Gregory Paul Costilla, 38, of the 3200 block of Antelope Road, White City. Costilla appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court Friday on an indictment charging him with two counts each of possession and delivery of amphetamines and delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school. He was booked into jail and released. Crime reports Theft — 6200 block of Rogue River Highway, Rogue River. A Jackson County sheriff’s deputy took a report Friday of a theft of a blue Ford minivan with Oregon license plate TSM 984. Advertisement Theft — 3800 block of Old Military Road, Central Point. A deputy took a report Friday of a theft of an all-terrain vehicle. Vandalism — 5200 block of Crater Lake Highway, Central Point. A deputy took a report of a $1,000 worth of damage to several vehicles. Fire calls Trash fire — North Valley View Road, Ashland. Oregon Department of Forestry and Jackson County Fire District No. 5 went to a reported vehicle fire sending a large plume of smoke skyward near the dump. Crews found a garbage truck with a heap of smoldering rubbish in back. The fire didn’t spread beyond the truck before firefighters knocked it out.
