Four people, one of them a juvenile, entered a home in the 4600 block of Hamrick Road and used force to restrain those inside, Jackson County sheriff's Detective Sgt. Colin Fagan said. Jolene Lynn Carter, 20, of Medford, allegedly punched a woman in the face and along with her three accomplices stole electronics in order to collect on a drug debt. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and a hunting knife was found at the scene, Fagan said. Apparently, one person who lived at the home had received drugs from the suspects and then refused to pay. This person wasn't at home at the time of the robbery, Fagan added. Carter, along with Kyle Steven Anderson, 24, Matthew Vaughn Gray, 31 and a 17-year-old male fled the scene in a minivan and were caught 10 minutes later on Kirtland Road near Blackwell Road after one of the victims called 9-1-1, Fagan said. Advertisement Two others in the van, Gray's wife and another male juvenile, were not charged when detectives determined they were unaware that a robbery was going to occur. They cooperated with police during the investigation, Fagan added. Carter, Anderson and Gray were lodged in jail on charges of second-degree robbery. In addition, Carter faces a fourth-degree assault charge for reportedly hitting the woman. All remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail late Saturday on $1 million bail each. "This was basically a case when a drug dealer goes and gets some cronies to collect on a drug debt owed," Fagan said. Sheriff's officials were assisted by Medford police, Central Point police and Oregon State Police.
