Sheriff’s office searching for missing Texas man Updated: Jun 14, 2021 02:42 PM A A JCSO photo Jones The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a Texas man after his motorcycle turned up parked in the woods near Prospect. Kirk E. Jones, 35, of San Antonio, Texas, was reportedly heading to a family board game night but never showed up, police said, according to a news story from KSAT in San Antonio. Security cameras from Jones’ apartment complex showed him leaving at 9:30 a.m. June 3. Since then, multiple calls to Jones have continued to go to voicemail, according to a media report. A hiker near the Sky Lakes Wilderness boundary found Jones’ 2017 black Yamaha motorcycle June 13, parked in the woods, sheriff’s office public information officer Aaron Lewis said. The vehicle had not sustained any apparent damage, Lewis said. “They had search and rescue out around San Antonio,” he said. “I don’t think they had any inkling that he would be this far away.” A sheriff’s office news release described Jones as having black hair with a widow’s peak, with scars over his right eyebrow and chin. He is 6-feet-3 and weighs about 210 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt, black motorcycle jacket and jeans. He has a unique custom motorcycle helmet that has an image of a green octopus on it. Anyone with information about Jones’ whereabouts was asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 541-776-7206.
