Man pulls gun after traffic accident in Central Point By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Feb 23, 2022 01:28 PM A A Two drivers involved in a vehicle accident in Central Point Tuesday evening ended up in a confrontation that turned ugly when one of the drivers pulled a gun and the pair began to struggle for control of it, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy arrived at the intersection of Crater Lake Avenue and East Vilas Road as the drivers were fighting over the weapon. “The suspect held the firearm to his own head and began retreating back to his vehicle,” the sheriff’s office reported in a press release. The suspect surrendered to law enforcement without force. “A DUI investigation is underway,” the sheriff’s office added. Traffic was diverted during the incident, which began just before 8 p.m.
