Police activity backing up I-5 near Ashland

Those heading north from Ashland should avoid the south on-ramp, ODOT advises. Oregon State Police blocked a single lane near Ashland Exit 14 on northbound Interstate 5 just before 5 p.m. Thursday, according to Oregon Department of Transportation spokesman Gary Leaming.  Details about the investigation were not immediately available except that a single suspect was arrested during a traffic stop near mile-marker 15, according to Oregon State Police Sgt. Kyle Hove. Leaming said the closure has backed up traffic for roughly two miles into Crowson Road. “Avoid that Exit 14,” Leaming said.
