Children's Festival celebrates 50 years Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Jun. 24, 2016 at 8:16 AM Posted Jun. 24, 2016 at 8:16 AM » Social News The 50th annual Children’s Festival will be held July 9-11 in Jacksonville, but organizers are getting a jump on the festivities with a three-day art reception and exhibit that begins Saturday, June 25. The exhibit at Rogue Gallery & Art Center will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday through Monday and will include displays of original “Fred the Dragon” artwork by Pat Blair, festival memorabilia and artwork from the festival itself. Rogue Gallery is at 40 S. Bartlett St., Medford. Kids can enter a coloring contest and visit with Rosabelle, the litter-eating dragon. This year’s Children’s Festival theme is “Fairy Tales Across the Ages,” noting the rich history and entertainment the festival has brought to the Rogue Valley for multiple generations. Set up on the Britt Grounds in Jacksonville, the festival offers dozens of hands-on arts, crafts and science projects for kids. For more information, see www.storytellingguild.org .
