Mavis Owens Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Aug. 5, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Aug. 5, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News Mavis Owens July 29, 1930 - August 2, 2015 Mavis Owens was surrounded by her family when she peacefully passed away in her daughter’s home, Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 3:43 a.m. The few weeks prior to her passing were a celebration of her life. She was enveloped in love by her family and friends with the sharing of her life stories and jokes, along with dancing and singing to her favorite music, resulting in shared tears and laughter. Her loving, caring, and accepting nature, and her ability to find the fun in any situation assured that she was truly and deeply loved. She grew up in Southern California where she met and married her husband of 31 years, Robert Owens. Mavis led a busy life. Not only did she, as a mother, create a home filled with love and laughter for family and friends, she was also a corporate officer and bookkeeper for the cable television companies she and her husband created. Her husband passed when she was 49 years old. She moved to Medford in 1990 from her long time home in Orange County, Calif. She will be missed by her three surviving children, Vicki, Debbie, and Jeff; as well as her three grandchildren, Corey, Kelley, and Bryce. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Isaac, Ben, and Samantha; her 98 year old sister, Theo; and her wealth of extended family and lifelong friends, along with the new friends she made while living at Twin Creeks Retirement. The plethora of wonderful memories, amusing stories, and priceless quotes will help fill the empty space in their hearts. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 in the Town Hall at Twin Creeks Retirement Community. Truman Scott will officiate. The address is 888 Twin Creeks Crossing, Central Point, Oregon. The family asks that should one desire, that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Asante Hospice in Memory of Mavis Owens, and mailed to 2960 Doctor Park Drive, Medford, OR 97504.
