Aisling Tucker Moore Reed, 25, who goes by the name Tucker Reed, entered not guilty pleas Tuesday to felony charges of first- and second-degree manslaughter for the July 26 shooting of her maternal uncle, 63-year-old Shane Patrick Moore. The first-degree manslaughter charge alleges that Reed caused Moore's death by acting unlawfully and recklessly, and under circumstances "manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life." Reed's second-degree manslaughter charge alleges she "unlawfully and recklessly" caused Moore's death. Kelly Moore, Moore's sister and Reed's mother, said last week that her daughter was protecting her during the shooting. Jackson County District Attorney Beth Heckert and Deputy District Attorney Marco Boccato will prosecute the case. The necessary 10 percent of her $200,000 bail for Reed's release had been posted, and Reed was in the process of being released Tuesday evening. According to a document filed Tuesday in Jackson County Circuit Court, conditions for Reed's release mandate that she check in with the release office at least once a week, possess no firearms or weapons and consume no alcohol or intoxicants. Reed is also forbidden from contacting Carla Tryber, whose name appears as a witness in the grand jury's indictment. Reed's next court appearance is set for Aug. 15.
