Michael Anthony Snyder, 22, of the 600 block of East Archwood Drive in Eagle Point is scheduled to be arraigned on burglary charges Feb. 17 in Jackson County Circuit Court. On Jan. 6, a deputy who was already in the area was dispatched to Edgewood Park Drive in Shady Cove for a reported burglary in progress. The motor home owner said he heard someone inside the home, which was behind a locked fence, according to an affidavit. Another deputy arrived, and the two searched the motor home, which appeared to have been ransacked. They could find nobody inside. The second deputy then allegedly found Snyder hiding on the roof, the affidavit said. Snyder allegedly said he was with another man whom he had just met and didn't know, and that they were checking out places together. Snyder allegedly said it was the other man went into the motor home, but the man fled when deputies arrived, the affidavit said. "Snyder said he just hid on the roof. We were unable to locate the other male suspect that Snyder reported," deputies said in the affidavit. No other co-defendants have been charged in the case, according to court records. Snyder is facing charges of first- and second-degree burglary, and first- and second-degree criminal trespassing. In various cases in 2015, Snyder pleaded guilty to methamphetamine possession, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, fourth-degree assault and strangulation.
