Today's Workout: Swing back into a workout schedule with this leg exercise Comment By Marlo Alleva More Content Now MailTribune.com By Marlo Alleva More Content Now Posted Aug. 25, 2015 at 7:17 AM By Marlo Alleva More Content Now Posted Aug. 25, 2015 at 7:17 AM » Social News Goodbye to those laid-back, endless summer days of over-indulgence, and no rhyme or reason for a schedule. The kids are heading back to school, and it’s time to hit those routines again. I know I’m not alone when I say diet and fitness get altered, shortened and thrown out the window more often than not on those warm weather summer days of fun, especially for those easy-to-skip-over body parts. Our move today is “wall leg swings.” All you need is yourself and a wall. You’ll be working your inner thighs directly and touching on the outer thighs and glutes as well. Begin this move by standing, facing the wall. Place your hands on the wall for balance and shift your weight onto one foot. Keeping your hips forward and core solid, extend the free foot (and leg) out to the side. Now, begin to swing that leg from the outside extended position to slightly crossing over the stabilizing leg. Once it crosses, return to the outward position. Continue this swinging motion at a controlled pace. Give yourself at least 20 reps per leg for three to five sets. This lower body exercise is a great target move for all fitness levels and abilities. And, it’s one of the easiest moves to perform as well. So now that we are slowly tidying up our schedules, make sure to throw in those easily forgotten — but oh so important — workouts! Happy swinging!
