Bill Eugene Hollister Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Jun. 22, 2016 at 2:00 AM Posted Jun. 22, 2016 at 2:00 AM » Social News Bill Eugene Hollister, 79 of Medford, Ore. passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016. He was born November 24, 1936 in Huron, South Dakota to Merle and Lela Hollister He grew up in Eugene, Oregon, graduating from Eugene High School in 1955. He married Claudia Ann Klang June 30, 1956. They moved to Portland in 1961 and to Medford in 1971. He worked as an optician in Portland and Medford. Bill was a Christian and committed church member, serving most recently at Medford First Church of the Nazarene. In addition, Bill was an active member of Boy Scouts for over 60 years earning the Silver Beaver Award. He is survived by his wife, Claudia; son, Chris; daughters, Julia Satter (Stan), Amy Harvey (Tim), and Beth Cordeiro (Scott); nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jack; sister, Deanna Carter; and daughter-in- law, Nancy. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Medford First Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Medford First Church of the Nazarene, Building Fund, 1974 East McAndrews Road, Medford, Ore. 97504.
