The communities of Hilt and Hornbrook were hit hard by the devastating Klamathon fire. Many ranchers and farmers lost livestock, pastures, stored hay, fence lines and equipment. Taking care of the surviving cattle and horses have left ranching families in desperate need of essentials such as hay and fence posts to feed and secure their animals. To provide some relief to support the farmers and ranchers affected by the fire, a hay drive has been organized. Bales of hay and fence posts of any kind, new or used, can be delivered between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, to R Ranch Headquarters, 225 Ditch Creek Road, Hornbrook, Calif. For more information call 541-621-2462.
