Patrick James Moore Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Aug. 5, 2016 at 2:00 AM Posted Aug. 5, 2016 at 2:00 AM » Social News Patrick James Moore, 66, of Ashland, Ore. passed away July 7, 2016, at Ashland Community Hospital. A physician, outdoorsman, musician, craftsman, prankster, and gardener, Patrick is remembered by his neighbors as the kind organizer of fun pumpkin carving and apple cidering events at his Ashland home. Patrick was an avid reader and outdoorsman. He loved reading literature and nonfiction, rafting Oregon rivers, telling bad puns, riding his bicycle, diving in coral reefs around the world, hunting morel and chanterelle mushrooms, and Alpine and Nordic skiing. Patrick was born and raised in Lombard, Ill. After receiving his M.D. from the Stritch Medical School in Maywood, Illinois, Patrick first practiced family medicine in Oregon and then emergency medicine in California and Oregon. Patrick is survived by his son; mother; sister; three brothers; and close long-time friends. A memorial service for Patrick will be held at 11:00 a.m. August 20, 2016, at Ashland Christian Fellowship. In lieu of flowers, the family invites contributions to shatterproof.org , an education, advocacy, and research organization.
