Jonathan Anthony Kinsella, 42, is in Jackson County Jail without bail on a probation violation after a Tuesday night arrest, Medford police reported. The search for the property and suspect began Jan. 13 after the trailer was reported stolen from a home on Cheltenham Way, off Delta Waters Road. The snowmobile and golf cart were on the trailer. Surveillance footage showed a '90s Chevy Silverado with oversized tires backing up to the trailer and driving it away. Police found the trailer Jan. 14 at Sunburst Court off Roberts Road, but it was empty. Investigators obtained surveillance footage of what they thought was the suspect's truck pulling into the nearby Grandview Center market on Thursday. On Friday, a community service officer spotted the truck on Temple Drive a few blocks away and snapped a picture of the license plate before it roared off at a high rate of speed. Further investigation led police to Kinsella's parents' home in Central Point, where they found the golf cart. On Tuesday afternoon, police received a tip that the snowmobile was located at Northwood Drive near Providence Medford Medical Center. Police said that while they were on scene, Kinsella pulled up in a truck, but then backed away and sped off through the parking lot toward Crater Lake Avenue. An officer later found Kinsella walking on Royal Court and arrested him after a short foot chase. The snowmobile was recovered in a garage in the 2300 block of East Barnett Road. Court records show Kinsella has a lengthy criminal history stretching back to 1990, including convictions for fourth-degree assault, unauthorized use of a vehicle, first-degree burglary, methamphetamine possession, felony elude and second-degree rape.
