The 47-year-old woman told police she withdrew cash at 9:30 p.m. from the ATM at the Bank of America, 790 Stevens St. and returned to her car when a sedan pulled directly behind her car, according to the Medford Police Department. A man got out of the passenger side and walked toward her while apparently pulling something over his face, police said. The man reached his right hand into his jacket as if he were holding a weapon and he demanded money, Medford police Lt. Tim George said. The victim gave him $40, George said. The suspect demanded more but the woman said she had none, and the robber left, George said. The victim described the robber’s vehicle to be a grayish-blue four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry, George said. It was last seen headed south on Crater Lake Avenue, he said. Advertisement A witness later reported to police that he saw a white man 25-30 years old, about 6 feet tall and with a goatee, sitting in the passenger seat of a 1986 or ’87 Camry parked near the Bank of America a few minutes before the robbery, George said. The victim could not describe her robber, other than to say he wore a brown jacket, had gloves and had something over his face, police said. She did not see the driver, police said. "People need to use caution at ATMs late at night, especially at ones that may be secluded or isolated from public view," George said. No weapon was seen, and the case remained under investigation Monday, George said.
