Short and heavyset with pierced ears, Jose Antonio Steiner turned 23 years old on Nov. 10. Jackson County Community Corrections and Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon are asking for help from the public as they track him down. In April 2000, Steiner was arrested and indicted for the charge of second-degree sodomy for an offense that occurred in Medford. He pleaded guilty and was imprisoned for 18 months with three years’ post-prison supervision. He was also required to register as a sex offender. Steiner is required to report his new address within 10 days of moving or within 10 days of his birthday. The last time Steiner registered was June 17 with an address in Medford. Because he has not reported to his parole officer, the Oregon State Parole Board has issued a no-bail felony warrant for his arrest. The warrant is extraditable in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Jose Steiner is described as a Hispanic male adult, 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. Advertisement Steiner has three dots tattooed between his thumb and forefinger on the left hand, a tattoo of the word "Allison" on his upper left arm, an appendectomy scar on his torso, and pierced ears. He may be using the alias of Jose Antonio Smith or Jerry Antonio Smith. The picture shown here, taken July 18, is the most recent image available. If you see Steiner or have information of his whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at (800)3-DETECT (800-333-8328) and refer to case No. MT-88. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in these cases or any unsolved criminal activity. Callers can remain anonymous. The reward is sponsored by Sonitrol of Southern Oregon.
