TJ's stun Boise with late surge The Southern Oregon Timberjacks have played a thrill-packed six games to open the Northwest League season. Fortunately, the Timberjacks have come out ahead in five of those games and thus lead the NWL Southern Division by 1 games over Salem-Keizer. It took a two-out 12th inning rally Wednesday at Miles Field for Southern Oregon to register a 4-3 victory over the Boise Hawks. After the Hawks broke a 2-2 tie by pushing across a run in the top of the 12th on Gary Johnson's RBI single after three errors, Southern Oregon rallied for the victory. The game appeared over when Jason Clements hit a routine two-out grounder to Boise second baseman Robb Quinlan, but Quinlan couldn't get a handle on the ball and Clements reached base on an error. Clements was balked to second and Carlos Rosario walked. Matt Forbes hit a blooper to left over shortstop John Shaffer's head and left fielder Michael O'Keefe dove for the fly. The ball hit off O'Keefe's glove, allowing Clements and Rosario score from first with the winning run.Southern Oregon took the initial lead with two runs in the second inning. Brad Henderson opened with a single and Kirk Asche walked. After one out, Gerald Laird walked to load the bases and Clement grounded into an RBI force out. Rosario followed with a run-scoring single.
