CRIME Gunfire reported again in west Medford neighborhood Comment By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune MailTribune.com By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune Posted Dec. 10, 2014 at 11:07 AM By Ryan Pfeil Mail Tribune Posted Dec. 10, 2014 at 11:07 AM » Social News   A day after nine bullets punched holes in a west Medford home and nearby business, police received several reports of shots fired in an area just around the corner. Medford police got six reports of shots fired at about 9 p.m. Tuesday near the corner of Manzanita and Beatty streets. One caller reported hearing four shots fired in succession, followed by a lull, then one more shot, police said. A search of the area did not turn up any bullet holes or shell casings, but police still think it could have been gunshots. There were no reports of injuries, either. Police believe the event is likely related to an early Monday incident that resulted in seven bullet holes in a Boardman Street home and two more in a nearby business. Officers responded to a home in the 400 block of Boardman Street just after 8:30 a.m. Monday after a man there woke up to find several bullet holes in his home. Police believe they were fired sometime between 3 and 8 a.m. Some bullets passed through the home while the man slept, missing him by inches, while others traveled through a bedroom where an infant sometimes slept. A half hour later, police responded to Advanced TV & Video at 1035 Court St., which is less than 300 feet from the home. Investigators found two bullet holes in the business's front windows. No one was in the building at the time. "Very close proximity, and again, you don't have any casings found," Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau said, adding that likely means the shots were fired from a car in both the Monday and Tuesday cases. "The fact it's going on still is very concerning to us." Anyone with information about either case is asked to contact Medford police at 541-770-4784. Reach reporter Ryan Pfeil at 541-776-4468 or [email protected] .
