Morely leads Roseburg to win ROSEBURG When Roseburg needed it the most, Megan Morley produced. Morley served the final three points to end the match as the Indians remained undefeated in the Southern Oregon Conference with a 15-9, 13-15, 15-10 victory over Ashland Tuesday. "In games 1 and 2 she (Morley) didnt have her best night," Ashland coach Josh Rolfing said. "When it counted she made big plays at big moments. Even when she wasnt getting it down on offense, she stepped it up on defense." Roseburgs big front line proved to be a key factor in the match. "Our height and blocking was a big difference because it made them alter their attack," said Roseburg coach Bruce Myers. Morley finished with nine kills, while Katie Kahn added seven and Shannon Burmeister and Lacy Fullerton contributed six each. Kristen Bitter provided six stuff blocks. For Ashland, Leslie Brown led the attack with 15 kills. Molly Grossman had 41 assists. "She (Brown) continues to impress me," said Rolfing. "She had lots of digs for us and was good on serve receive." CRATER 15-15, GRANTS PASS 12-6 At Grants Pass, Carissa Nafie and Janell Sapienza gave Crater a big edge in the front line. Nafie, a senior middle, contributed seven kills and five blocks, while senior outside hitter Sapienza provided eight kills and eight digs. The Comets played in spurts and struggled with passing at times. In the opener, Crater went up 10-4, but Grants Pass came back to tie the game at 10-all. Crater jumped out to a 12-3 lead in the second game and never let the Cavers challenge. For Grants Pass, Johnna Nealy excelled with six kills and provided excellent passing and blocking. KLAMATH UNION 14-15-15, EAGLE POINT 16-11-2 At Klamath Falls, Eagle Point stunned the Pelicans in the first game but couldnt complete the upset as Klamath Union prevailed.
