The new signs in Talent say Rogue Valley Highway. The city of Talent does not know if it is just a mistake, or if the name has been changed. Our address is on Pacific Highway and we have not been advised of the name change. -- Patricia L., Talent You will not be required to change your address, in fact, you won't be required to look at that sign much longer. The Oregon Department of Transportation made a mistake, and will be changing the sign to Pacific Highway soon, said Gary Leaming, project information coordinator. Different jurisdictions call their highways by different names, and it can get a little confusing: John Vial, ODOT district manager, said the official name of Highway 99 in our region is "The Rogue Valley Highway." Meanwhile, local governments often give local names, and ODOT likes to honor those whenever possible, he said. So in Medford, the Rogue Valley Highway is Court Street, Central Avenue and Riverside Avenue in certain spots. It's Main Street in Phoenix. Then it's Lithia Way, North Main Street and Siskiyou Boulevard in Ashland. It's North Pacific Highway in Central Point and South Pacific Highway in Talent. See what we mean?
