SOU men win tourney SANTA CRUZ, Calif. � Hamilton Barnes scored 14 points to lead the Southern Oregon University men�s basketball team to a 81-57 win over UC Santa Cruz in the championship game of the UC Santa Cruz Invitational on Sunday. Chad Paris added 13 points for the Raiders while Tom Chipps tallied 11 in his first game back from injury. Southern Oregon, who jumped out to an early lead but led by only seven at halftime, put the game away in the second half with their depth. "We were just more balanced," said SOU coach Brian McDermott. "Defensively they could only get one kid going and we kind of shut down their perimeter people."
