Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Jun. 21, 2009 at 12:01 AM Posted Jun. 21, 2009 at 12:01 AM » Social News CENTRAL POINT — A head-on collision Saturday morning between a 1991 Ford F-150 pickup and a 1928 Ford Model A on Hanley Road left two people seriously injured, Oregon State Police said. Jake Ramos, 53, was driving his pickup west on Hanley Road when he failed to see a car ahead of him stop at the lighted intersection where the road crosses with Highway 238. To avoid hitting the car, Ramos swerved into the oncoming lane where his vehicle crashed head-on into the Model A driven by Daile Prettyman, 67, of Kennewick, Wash., OSP said. Prettyman and his three passengers — Richard Mace, 65, and Kenneth Chandler, 55, both of Oregon and Jordan Chandler, 16, of Gearhart — were transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center. Prettyman and Mace were hospitalized with serious injuries, while the other two occupants suffered minor injuries. Ramos' 11-year-old passenger also was taken to RVMC, where he was treated for minor injuries. OSP crash investigators determined that safety belts were used by all involved occupants. The crash is still under investigation by members of the OSP in Central Point. They were assisted at the scene by members of the Jackson County Collision Reconstruction Team, which is comprised of officers from local law enforcement agencies.
