Occupancy grew 6.8 percent to more than 63 percent of rooms being taken, according to figures compiled by Smith Travel Research of Hendersonville, Tenn. The region's revenue per available room climbed nearly 12 percent, compared with the statewide average of 8.9 percent. The average room rate jumped 4.8 percent to $86.22, although that figure lagged the stave average of $106.96. Room remand increased 6.6 percent to 160,693 rooms, while rising 3.6 percent statewide. Revenue grew 11.7 percent to nearly $13.9 million, accounting for about one in 10 lodging dollars spent in Oregon last month. For the year, Southern Oregon's room revenue is up 11.3 percent to almost $51 million.
