Mr. Farnum is presented in the Alaska cave-man drama in five acts titled, "The Iron Strain," which scored such a success when it appeared in Medford a few months ago. The management has been requested so often by people who had seen it and others not so fortunate to book a return engagement that they have made arrangements for a showing today and tomorrow. Miss Enid Mackey, a popular leading woman of the Ince studio, is associated with Mr. Farnum in another play. "The Iron Strain" has been described as a sort of cross between "The Taming of the Shrew" and "The Great Divide." The circumstance of its comparison with such classics dictates its high excellence. A Keystone comedy built for laughing purposes only completes the bill. LOCAL AND PERSONAL A car bearing the legend "Trail Blazing Association of America," painted on the hood, rolled into Medford this morning carrying Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Tomilson of Iowa. The Tomilsons, who have blazed a number of great cross country trails, have been working this summer in British Columbia, Washington and Oregon, having been on the road this year for three months. Their method is to mark and designate trails by different colors. Thus that on which they are now working from British Columbia to Los Angeles is designated the black trail. Their method is to paint squares of white on telephone poles along the route with a symbol in black through the center, marking directions. Expenses are paid by the sale of guide books and maps and by posting the official signs of the trail before one hotel and one garage in each town. The larger towns also subscribe amounts in the belief that the trail blazing leads tourists their way.
