RCC pares list to three candidates for president GRANTS PASS -- Rogue Community College has selected three finalists for the college president's position. The candidates will speak at individual public forums and receptions in Jackson and Josephine counties during the next week. The public, along with college staff, faculty and students, is invited to meet the candidates and ask questions at sessions in Grants Pass and Medford. The candidates are Dr. Galyn Carlile, RCC dean of academic and professional/technical programs; Dr. Susan Carroll, president of Everett Community College in Washington; and Dr. Richard Levine, vice president of academic services at Chemeketa Community College in Salem. The Grants Pass sessions will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Redwood Campus on the following dates: today, Carlile; June 1, Levine; and June 3, Carroll. In Jackson County, the forums are 8 to 9 a.m. in the banquet room at C.K. Tiffin's restaurant, 226 E. Main St., Medford. The dates are: Friday, Carlile; June 2, Levine; and June 4, Carroll. RCC President Harvey Bennett steps down in August. He has been president since 1986 and led the way in RCC annexing Jackson County.
