Police said Joshua Lee Wright was spotted loitering outside the Jackson County Jail by staff. Police said Wright was under the influence of drugs at the time of his arrest and was initially lodged in the jail on a parole violation. Police Saturday added additional charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree theft and felon in possession of a weapon. Police said Wright is believed to have followed the 25-year-old victim into the Walmart's bathroom, punched him in the face and fled the store with the man's .40-caliber Springfield XD pistol. Another man spotted fleeing the store with Wright has been identified but hasn't been charged, police said. The victim's gun has yet to be recovered. Jail records show Wright is being held without bail because of the parole violation.
