Spartans pull away for victory Nov 16, 2014 12:00 AM A A SEATTLE — The Southern Oregon Spartans scored four straight goals to score a 6-3 victory over Seattle during Western States Hockey League action on Saturday. Mackenzie Wood had two goals and two assists, Billy Saxton one goal and one assist and Doug Gutierrez two assists for the Spartans (13-5), who’ll go for the three-match sweep today. Southern Oregon, which outshot Seattle (6-12), 47-39, snapped a four-game losing skid on Friday with a 6-3 triumph. Winning goalkeeper Tymen Edelkoort III made 36 saves.
