But after Lorenz tied it 6-all for the Eagles in the nonleague game, Yreka leadoff batter Greyson Plucker ended things in the bottom of the frame with a walkoff home run and a 7-6 victory. Lorenz’s two-out, two-run double to left-center field capped a three-run seventh for the Eagles, who led 3-0 until the Miners put up three runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to go up 6-3. Lorenz and Coldin Shopp were both 3-for-5 while Dylan Marsh and Chuck Little added a pair of hits for the Eagles (4-14). Carpenter went 4-for-5 with a triple, as did Tyler Sakraida. Sakraida scored four times and Carpenter five for the Chieftains (4-16), who chalked up 12 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Rogue River’s Austin Mahnke was 3-for-3 with four runs and three RBIs, and Jacob Tambelini went 3-for-3. Boys Golf EAGLE POINT INVITATIONAL: At Eagle Point, Eagle Point defended its home course with a five-stroke victory over Marshfield at the Eagle Point Invitational. The Eagles' Troy Jordan penciled in a 6-over-par 78 and tied for the fourth lowest round of the day. Tyler DeVore added an 80 for Eagle Point, which totaled 326 as a team, and Marshfield scored a 331. Crater took sixth, led by Race Reiter’s 84, and Ashland was ninth. Mazama’s Bryce Wortman was medalist with a 72.
