Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend May 21, 2005 Local briefs Planned Parenthood Teen Theatre performs tonight ASHLAND — Planned Parenthood’s Teen Theatre invites you to the spring community show tonight at the Unitarian Center. The performance of "You’ll Laugh and Cry as We Do Things About Stuff" includes scenes and songs on topics like growing up, relationships, adult/teen communication and sex education. The Teen Theatre has been around for 18 years, exploring the joys and challenges common in the lives of teens today. The company has earned much acclaim, including state and national awards and a considerable local following. The show will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Unitarian Center, Fourth and C streets, in Ashland. Doors open at 7 a.m. Tickets are $5 for general admission at the door, and $3 for students. Volunteers sought for summer archaeology project The Southern Oregon Historical Society, in conjunction with Southern Oregon University, seeks volunteers (18 years old and up) who would like to participate in the Fort Lane archaeology project scheduled for the week of July 11-15. Advertisement Archaeological experience is not necessary, but volunteers should be prepared for hiking and working in strenuous summer weather conditions. A mandatory volunteer training and information session will be held during the last week in June for those wishing to participate. Reservations are required to attend. Mark Tveskov, associate professor of anthropology at SOU and the Fort Lane project director, will give a presentation on the history of the fort and details of the upcoming project during the training sessions. Those interested in hearing Tveksov’s talk but not wishing to participate in the project are also welcome.
