(Carl) Fred Roberts 69 of Springfield, Ore. passed away from cancer in his home on February 29, 2016. He was born in Hayward, Calif., the first born of Fred and Ruth Roberts. Fred grew up in Ashland, Ore. before getting his BA at Oregon State University. He started working in sales at Cigna Health right out of college and was there for 23 years, followed by Health Net and with KPD Insurance. He was an avid fly fishermen, golfer, and, skier. He was a true outdoorsman. Fred is survived by his two sons, Jeremy of Portland and Brian (Heather) of Sammamish, Wash., along with their mother, Linda (Shumway) Roberts of Portland; his two younger brothers, Dan Roberts of Talent, Ore. and Gary Roberts and his wife, Ui of Talent, Ore.; life partner, Carol Campbell of Springfield, Ore., along with her son, Cam; his wife, Jen; and their son, Brennan. A Remembrance of Life will be held in Eugene, Ore. April 23rd at Willie’s Lebanese and NW Cuisine in Springfield from 5 pm-8 pm. Fred wished to be cremated and his ashes spread at a couple of his favorite spots.
