She was the first woman to work for the Teamsters Union as a party chief. In 1986 she married Greg Buck and lived in a log cabin in Galena, Alaska. She returned to college and attained a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks in 1994. She was employed by the State of Alaska in Juneau and Fairbanks and Design Alaska. Patrice dearly loved Alaska, her friends there and enjoyed the opportunities for skiing, fishing, hiking, boating, and adventure. She was an active member of St. Raphael’s Parish in Fairbanks and a member of her local ski patrol. Unfortunately, four years ago Patrice was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer. She endured much suffering in her battle against this terrible disease but also lived life fully, continuing to take trips and have adventures with her devoted family and friends. She thanks all the medical staff, friends, and family for their support.
