He was born August 10, 1929 in Watertown, S.D. to George and Ada Moss. Bob came to Oregon in 1949 before joining the U.S. Marine Corps in 1951. He served on the USS Essex aircraft carrier during the Korean Conflict. Bob married Maecille Stoltenburg April 18, 1953 in Watertown, S.D. where they settled after his discharge in December 1953. In 1959 he returned to Oregon settling in Medford with his family. Bob purchased Star Body Works in 1965 and started Star 24-Hour Towing in 1981. He managed both businesses until retiring in 1990. Bob was active with the Oregon Autobody Craftsman Association and the Oregon Tow Truck Associations during his career. In retirement Bob enjoyed raising sheep and supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in 4-H activities. He was a current member of the Siskiyou Koi & Pond Club. Bob is survived by his wife, Maecille Moss; brothers, Lewis “Butch” Moss of Estacada, Ore. and Jerald “Jerry” Moss of Omaha, Neb.; five children, Russell, Larry, Cindy, Kristie, and Kelly; seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and a great-grandson. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday April 11, 2015 at Conger Morris Chapel, Central Point. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jackson County 4-H Leaders Association 569 Hanley Rd. Central Point, OR 97502 or a favorite charity.
