Oakdale Ave., Medford. During an adult forum at 9:10 a.m., Rev. Norman Somes will present the first of three forums about "Sowing Seeds for a Fruitful Future." A book study group will discuss "The Trial of Fallen Angels" by James Kimmel at 6 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Feb. 25. A soup supper will precede the class. Call 541-773-3111 or see stmarks-medford.org.   Ascension Lutheran observes Lent Ascension Lutheran Church will observe the first Sunday of Lent during its worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at 675 Black Oak Drive, Medford. The church will offer a free community dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24. The church will offer Vespers at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday during Lent. The service will include conversation on spiritual practices, and each week will highlight a different Christian spiritual tradition. Call 541-773-3594.   Rose City Mixed Quartet at MCUCC The Rose City Mixed Quartet will perform during the worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at Medford Congregational United Church of Christ, 1801 E. Jackson St. The quartet will also perform a concert at 2 p.m. Sunday. The group sings a cappella choral music from many historical eras, including madrigals, baroque and romantic pieces, as well as pop and swing. Admission is free, and donations will be accepted cover the cost of travel. A spiritual practice group meets at 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays beginning Feb. 27 at the church. Registration is required. Holly St. There will be no 8:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday. The church's annual congregational meeting will follow the service, and a six-week celebration of the church's 130th anniversary will kick off with a birthday cake at the meeting.   A book study about "Christianity after Religion" by Diana Butler Bass meets at 7 p.m. Mondays. Call 541-899-1026.   Interfaith concert at the Havurah Argentina-born musician Gabriel Meyer Halevy will present an interfaith concert celebrating the human spirit titled "Many Continents, One Planet" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Havurah, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland. Halevy is the son of Rabbi Marshall Meyer, who saved the lives of thousands of Jews when Argentina was under military rule in the 1970s. Gabriel Meyer Halevy continues work as a peacemaker and is co-founder of the interfaith Sulha Peace Project in Israel. Admission is free.
