Crews from Applegate Fire District No. 9 responded to the blaze in the 100 block of Spencer Gulch Road at 2:09 a.m., according to dispatch logs. Crews found flames coming from two outbuildings and saw the fire had spread to the house on the property. Flames had also reached nearby wildlands.  Crews from the Oregon Department of Forestry and the Jacksonville Fire Department also arrived to assist. Applegate Fire Captain Mike Kuntz said about 20 firefighters, six engines and four tenders responded to the scene. Crews spent about three hours knocking down the flames, Kuntz said. In the end, the fire torched a quarter-acre of terrain, damaged the siding and attic space on the house and burned both outbuildings to the ground. "They were completely destroyed," Kuntz said, adding the house was mostly spared and is still standing.  At least one person was in the house, fire officials added, though an exact count was not available. No one was injured. The cause was unknown. One of the outbuildings contained a kiln for glassblowing, Kuntz said.  Reach reporter Ryan Pfeil at 541-776-4468 or [email protected] .
