The session is in Room 217 of the RCC/SOU Higher Education Center, 101 S. Bartlett St. The event is open to all current and potential new students. Applicants interested in applying for the program are required to attend one of these information sessions. Human service workers provide a wide range of support to help people through difficult times. Graduating students will be prepared for entry-level employment in a variety of social services settings, including group and community work at the public and private level. There are three degrees and one certificate available through the program. Starting salaries for graduates may range from $23,000 to $36,000 a year. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job prospects in this field are increasing. Many human services graduates transfer to four-year universities to further their education and to enhance career prospects and earnings. Tax experts: E-file, seek direct deposit With the April 18 tax return filing deadline approaching, Oregon's Department of Revenue recommends e-filing and asking for direct deposit refunds. The agency's website identifies several providers of free online tax preparation software and e-filing services for taxpayers with income less than $62,000 in 2015. Each provider has their own eligibility criteria. A list of approved vendors is available at www.oregon.gov/dor/e-filing . Make sure to start your return from the Department of Revenue's website to ensure free filing. AARP's Tax-Aide program provides in-person assistance to taxpayers for returns and filing. Services and locations may be found at www.oregon.gov/dor/e-filing . The Revenue Department recommends getting your return in as soon as possible to help prevent fraudulent claims for your refund and to get your legitimate refund as soon as possible. To make payments or check on the status of a refund, go to www.oregon.gov/dor . You may also email questions.dor @oregon.gov; call 1-800-356-4222. You may experience long wait times. Johman & DP Inc. buys corner market Johman & DP Inc., whose president is Johit Kumar, has acquired Woodland Heights Market at the corner of Prune Street and South Columbus Avenue from Herban Properties for $225,000. The 2,450-square-foot store was built in 1950. DeOro buys White City building DeOro Insurance Solutions, operated by Cesar Dablo, has purchased the former Lighthouse Cafe building at 8340 Highway 62 in White City from Gerald and Linda Hastings for $255,000. The 1,853-square-foot building, on 0.6 of an acre next to Baxter Auto Parts, was built in 1952. Valli Hai Motel has new owners Ramanlal and Manjulaben Panchal have acquired Valli Hai Motel at 1034 Court St. in Medford from Hitendra and Smitaben Patel for $350,000. The 8,342-square-foot motel was built in 1963. Aaron's Autowerks buys lots, buildings Aaron Bloch has acquired two lots and three buildings from Mark DiRienzo of GNT Investments LLC on South Pacific Highway in Phoenix for $875,000. Aaron's Autowerks leased the 8,400 square feet on 1.52 acres since moving into the shop in January 2014. Banner Corp. buys branch office, property Walla Walla, Wash.-based Banner Corp. has paid $980,000 to Blue Star Properties for the branch office and property it operates on the corner of East Main and Bartlett streets in downtown Medford. The president of Spokane-based Blue Star Properties is Jim Claffee, who was the chief operating officer for AmericanWest Bank and SKBHC before Banner bought the company a year ago. DeLuca acquires apartment complex Ron DeLuca has acquired an apartment complex on Alida Street in Ashland from Collins Court LLC for $943,500. The 6,708-square-foot complex on .37 acres was built in 1966.
