SOU Play Opening: Southern Oregon University's production of "Red Noses" opens at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in the Center Stage Theatre at SOU, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. The play tells the story of a friar in 14th-century France who seeks to spread joy and humor by assembling a troupe of red-nosed fools during the height of the Black Plague. Vital Aging Film: As part of the AARP's Vital Aging Conference, there will be a screening of the documentary film "Running Wild: The Life of Dayton O. The film tells the story of Dayton Hyde, who at age 62 began an effort to preserve the American West's wild horses, vanishing landscapes and historic traditions. The documentary covers efforts to create an independent state in Northern California and Southern Oregon, including a 1941 effort between California and Oregon counties.
