October 12. 2014 2:00AM Gerald Milton Nelson Gerald Milton Nelson went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 24, 2014. He was born in Spokane, Wash. May 31, 1931. Gerald was adopted and raised by Bernice Nelson. Gerald "Jerry" married his best friend, Geraldine "Gerry" Nelson August 24, 1951 in Klamath Falls, Ore. They moved to the Medford area from Klamath Falls in 1955. Jerry worked for Swift Meat Co., Farmer Brothers Coffee, and Allen Brothers Coffee. He retired in 1997. Having grown up on a ranch early on, he learned to be a hard worker and provided well for his family. Jerry prided himself on having a home for his family where many great memories were made. He also took great care with his yard; lush green grass and beautiful roses. He loved to dance with his wife and always enjoyed being "Papa Santa" at Christmas time. Other interests he enjoyed were coaching Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, bowling, and attending the annual Medford Jazz Festival. Gerald is survived by his four children, Denise (Marty) Wagner, Fred (Chris) Nelson, Charlie (Gina) Nelson, and Mike (Saskia) Nelson; eight grandchildren, Christian (Jill), Amanda (Matthew), Shane (Karrie), Kayla (Johnathan), Kendra (Josh), Kyle, Kevin, Katelyn, Jerome, and Ben; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Nelson and wife, Geraldine Nelson. There will be a family and friends gathering on Saturday, October 25, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at 408 Oak Grove Dr., Medford, OR 97501. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Husum and his staff, and Serenity Harbor Foster Home for their professional loving care of Gerald.
