Drink and drive on near beer I've heard that non-alcoholic beers have a smidgen of alcohol in them. My question is, can you drink a non-alcoholic beer and drive? -- Alan B., Talent The real question in our minds is, why would you WANT to drink a non-alcoholic beer? (Nothing against non-alcoholic beverages, mind you -- but we'd much prefer a refreshing carbonated juice drink to that swill manufacturers pass off as beer's teetotaling cousin.) You're correct about non-alcoholic beer, Alan; it has less than .05 percent of alcohol per serving. The Oregon Liquor Control Commission doesn't consider it an alcoholic beverage and therefore does not regulate it. According to a representative of the Medford Police Department, you can safely drink a non-alcoholic beer and drive. It'd be like drinking a pop -- a nasty-tasting pop, that is.
